Hydrology Division (Nong Khai)
Mission
1) Establish and maintain a network of hydrological and meteorological data collection stations in the responsible river basin area, ensuring they are appropriate and scientifically sound.
2) Survey and measure meteorological, hydrological, and other data that affect the occurrence and circulation of runoff, such as changes in the topography of each river basin.
3) Planning, controlling, monitoring, and collecting data from hydrological surveys; analyzing feasibility; then processing and compiling basic data in various forms according to academic principles; processing it into hydrological statistics in a complete format ready for use in water resource development projects and other fields; and publishing it as an annual hydrological statistics yearbook.
4) Study, research, analyze, and investigate hydrological and meteorological data for application in the hydrological design of water resource development projects and in planning management in each river basin.
5) Monitor/forecast, observe, and report on hydrological variations, including floods and droughts, in each river basin.
6) Provide hydrological and meteorological data services to both government and private sector agencies.
7) Promote and support the work of river basin organizations, local organizations, and various projects of agencies within and outside the Department of Water Resources.
